Food & drink in the evenings
The kitchen will be open every evening with good value full meals and snacks available on Friday, and a lighter menu on Saturday & Sunday nights. Vegan & GF options available all the time. There is also a full bar so please don't bring your own food or drinks. Tap water will be freely available.
Food & drink during the day
There is a cafe onsite which will have hot drinks, sandwiches, & light meals/snacks, open from 10.30am. We have staggered the break times and will be asking the teachers to stick strictly to these to avoid congestion. In the cafe, please (in the nicest possible way) get on with ordering and then move out of the way, and then it all runs smoothly. Delays are most often due to people chatting with friends in the queue, or standing around in the cafe.
There are a limited number of tables in the cafe, or you can take your lunch outside, or to the classrooms. Vegan & GF options are available, but please let the cafe know in the morning.
Please make sure you bring a water bottle - there will be multiple water points but we won't be providing cups (if you forget, you will need to buy a bottle from the cafe). You are welcome to bring your own food & drink during the day, but please note there are no shops immediately outside the venue.
Cafe service for Beginners track and Competition & Show track
To prevent congestion in the cafe, these groups will pre-order in their classrooms in the morning and then have their lunches delivered to the classrooms at the lunch break (you can then take them to eat wherever you like).
Aerial & dance taster classes
You can sign up for the aerial classes at the registration desk. You must sign up with a partner and there will be no partner rotation in the class. Numbers will be limited to ensure safety. All other taster classes will be drop-in.
Jack and Jill competition
This will take place on Sunday evening, and we're keeping the system really simple this year. There is no sign-up needed - if you want to be in the competition make sure you arrive at 8.30pm (at the Trinity Centre), and heats will start at 8.40pm. The final will be in the break between the band sets, around 10.30pm. You will switch partners several times in the heats, but remain with one partner during the final.
Circus taster classes
The logistical planning for these continues right up to the start of the festival, so information about which sessions you are in will be given to you at the start of your lunch break on Saturday. Please stick to the sessions you are down for - you don't need to tell us if you want to skip a session, but please talk to Stephen before joining a session you are not booked in for.
It should go without saying, but there is potential for injury to yourself or others if you mis-use circus equipment. Please do not use anything without supervision, and please completely follow the instructions of your circus teachers.
You need to complete the attached disclaimer form before taking circus taster classes. Please fill it in and bring it with you; you won't be able to register & receive your wristband without it.
Stuff you need to bring with you for circus taster classes
Clowning, Juggling, stilt walking, walking globe, hula hooping and tight wire - you don't need to wear anything special.
Aerial skills including trapeze, aerial hoop, rope (corde lisse), silks - wear two pairs of trousers and or leggings, t-shirt + thin jumper, and it's a good idea to have your arms covered. Jeans are very good but make sure they're not tight fitting jeans.
Chinese Pole - bring a pair of jeans that you can fit over a second pair of trousers, t-shirt + thin jumper, trainers with good grip is very important.
Acrobalance, tumbling - loose fitting comfortable clothes that are not too baggy
see you at the festival!
